Quentin received his second appointment to Danville Centenary in June 2005. Quentin and his wife Becky are both Danville natives. The Scholtzs have two grown children, Adam and Ginny. Quentin served Centenary from 1990-97 and moved here after a three-year appointment in Pikeville. Quentin's favorite Bible verse is I John 4:19, "We love because he first loved us." Quentin loves to work on his farm and is passionate about God's work at Centenary and in helping pastors and orphans in India.
Matthew Atha, Executive Pastor

Matthew began ministry at Centenary in July 2007. He and his wife Monica have two energetic boys, Zeke and Zack. The Athas moved here following a seven year ministry in Harrodsburg. Matthew has also lived and ministered in Indiana, Missouri, Texas, and England. Matthew's favorite Bible verse is Galatians 5:1, "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free." Matthew enjoys swimming and weight lifting and is passionate about helping people grow in the grace of God.
Jill Winter, Director of Children’s Ministries

Jill began as the director of Centenary's Kid's Morning Out program in 2003 and assumed the leadership of the children's ministry in February 2007. Jill and her husband, Mark, have two boys, Josh and Nathan. Although Jill and Mark moved from Jacksonville, Florida to Danville in 2000, she grew up in Granite Falls, Minnesota. She is a graduate of Iowa State University. Jill enjoys spending time with her family and reading, and she is a serious Bible student. Her favorite Bible verse at this time is John 20:31, "But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name."
Brian Lawson, Director of Youth Ministries

Brian and his wife Ashley, and daughter Chelsea moved to Kentucky in August 2011. Brian is currently a student at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore. Brian and his wife moved from Plant City, Florida, where they ministered at the First United Methodist Church for the past two years. Brian is a native of Dayton, Ohio and is a graduate of Warner University where he earned a degree in Transformational Christian Ministry. Brian enjoys amusement parks, football, baseball, guitar, and spending time with his family. Brian's favorite Bible verse is Hebrews 12:1-2a, "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race that is marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith..."
Cathy Harper, Executive Assistant and Bookkeeper

Cathy began as the Executive Assistant to the Pastors in August 2010 after moving back to Danville from Indiana. In May 2011, she also took on the responsibilities of bookkeeper. She grew up in Danville and has one daughter, Paxton. She enjoys spending time with her family, photography, reading and computers. One of her favorite Bible verses is Psalm 119:105, “You word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.”
Priscilla Johnson, Custodian

Priscilla has worked at Centenary since 2003. Priscilla and her husband Melvin have six children: Vellis, John, Chris, Jesse, Paul, and Christa. Her oldest son and daughter-in-law Nicole have one son, Vellis Elijah and a daughter, Lila Jean. Priscilla enjoys reading and playing music. Priscilla's favorite Bible verse is Psalm 37:23: "If the Lord delights in a man's way, he makes his steps firm."
Kaytrina Leathers, Kitchen/Facility Coordinator

Kaytrina grew up in Boyle and Mercer County, Kentucky. She is a widow. Kaytrina has two adult children - Carl and Kris and three grandchildren - Abigail, Kiersten and Kaylee. She enjoys gardening, reading, and sewing. Kaytrina's favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 40:31, "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
Tim Johnson, Director of Music

Tim Johnson began his music ministry at Centenary in August of 2010. He and his wife Debbie have three grown boys – Chris, Brett and Brian. Tim taught for 16 years as a band director in Jessamine County, and at the same time he was a music director at two churches in Lexington and Wilmore over a period of 17 years. Tim also spent 12 years as the general manager for Curnow Music Press, a publisher of concert band and instrumental music. He currently teaches music technology classes at Asbury University. Tim is a graduate of Asbury College, the University of Illinois, and completed coursework on the doctoral level in composition at the University of Kentucky. One of His favorite verses is John 4:23: “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.”
Joan Stafford, Organist/Pianist
Joan has been the organist and pianist since 1981. She is a widow and has five married children, fifteen grandchildren and one great grandson. She has a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Michigan and a Master of Music degree from Andrews University. She enjoys cooking and gardening. She is a member of the American Guild of Organists. A favorite Bible verse is Colossians 3:14, "and above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony."
