Boy Scout Troop 27
Boy Scout Troop 27 meets each Monday at 7 p.m. at their Scout Room, located near Centenary United Methodist Church's Christian Life Center, 1441 Perryville Road (next to Boyle County High School).
The Troop strives to have an outdoor event once a month--through camping, canoeing, hiking, or a trip. We participate in week-long campouts during the summer. The Troop generally attends Camp McKee, but has also traveled to Camp Lumpkin in Georgia or has gone to the Florida Keys.
Rather than requiring Scouts to pay dues each week, the Troop participates in various fund raisers to pay expenses-- camp fees, transportation, registration, and subscription to Boys Life magazine. Some of our past fund raisers include: Christmas tree sales, Boy Scout popcorn, cemetary maintenance, and soft drink sales at the Hot Air Balloon Race.
